Postgraduate and PhD members
UCU is particularly keen to encourage the future of the profession to join UCU.
- enrolled PhD students who are also contracted to teach can join as full and active members for free
- postgraduate and PhD students who do not have a teaching role/contract can also join as student members for free – simply select “Student Membership” from the “What kind of membership” box here

Aber UCU Exec meets monthly. Members are elected at the AGM, however there is often a need fill roles during the year, notably for Departmental Reps. Please look at the Who to Contact page to see current vacant roles.

UCU Congress occurs in May/June at which the direction of the union is set by participation of representatives from all branches, including Aber UCU.

UCU Wales Congress is the highest policy making body of the union in Wales and is held in spring each year. Get involved!

UCU develops members skills, confidence and knowledge through an array of training courses.

These range from activist education training through to networks of branch representatives for Environment, Health and Safety, Equality etc.
